Epic Games Reaches Settlement with Samsung in Antitrust Case

Epic Games has come to a settlement agreement with tech giant Samsung, resolving its antitrust lawsuit. The lawsuit, which was filed last year, alleged that a partnership between Samsung and Google contradicted the verdict of Epic's previous antitrust case against Google, won in December 2023. Epic claimed that Samsung's statements about its apps being unknown and unsafe were untrue and caused harm to its reputation, leading to a loss of profits as users chose not to install Epic apps. Following discussions between the parties, Epic CEO Tim Sweeney confirmed that the company is dropping its court case against Samsung, stating that he is thankful Samsung will be addressing Epic's concerns. Meanwhile, a similar antitrust lawsuit against Google remains ongoing.
