BetaDwarf Secures Investment from Gaming Giant Square Enix

Danish game development studio BetaDwarf has announced that it has received a significant investment from renowned gaming company Square Enix. Although the exact amount of the investment remains undisclosed, it is expected to bolster the development of BetaDwarf's forthcoming title, Vaultbreakers, while also enhancing the studio's overall production capabilities and community-driven initiatives. According to Hideaki Uehara, Square Enix's general manager of business development, the company is committed to identifying and supporting exceptional gaming talent, and BetaDwarf's passion and vision align with this goal. The investment is seen as a strategic move to bring high-quality games to a global audience. BetaDwarf CEO Steffen Kabbelgaard expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, citing the benefits of collaborating with Square Enix, including access to expertise, resources, and knowledge. This development is the latest milestone for BetaDwarf, which was founded in 2012 and has previously developed notable titles such as Forced, Forced: Showdown, and Minion Masters. The studio has also received funding from London Venture Partners in April 2019 and secured $6.6 million in a funding round in September 2019.
