Ex-Unity Staff Member Rod Stafford Receives 22-Year Prison Sentence for Sex Crimes

According to Oxford Crown Court, Stafford, who also went by the names Roderick Bryce-Hagin and Roderick Bryce-Stafford, received the sentence on July 1. Stafford previously worked as a senior client partner at Unity and had represented the company at several major conferences, including Develop:Brighton in 2024, where he gave a talk on launching and sustaining multiplayer games. He also spoke at Reboot Develop 2024 on the future of multiplayer game hosting. Stafford's conviction includes a five-year extended license and an indefinite sexual harm prevention order, and he has been added to the UK's sexual offenders register. The trial took place in April 2025, during which Stafford denied being a predator. Stafford's history of misconduct dates back to 2002, when he was jailed for preying on comrades at an army base. Unity has since stated that Stafford is no longer with the company and that his criminal case has no connection to Unity's operations.
