Nintendo Reveals Pricing Updates for Original Switch Consoles and Games in Canada

In response to shifting market conditions, Nintendo has confirmed that it will be introducing price adjustments for its original Switch consoles, accessories, and games in Canada. These changes will impact the standard Switch, Switch Lite, and OLED models, as well as physical and digital games, accessories, Amiibo figurines, and Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions. Currently, the Switch is priced at $400 CAD, the OLED model at $450 CAD, and the Switch Lite at $260 CAD, according to GameSpot. Although the company has not specified whether prices will rise or fall, it will provide further information on August 1, 2025, through the My Nintendo Store in Canada. Notably, these price changes will not affect the newly released Switch 2 hardware and software. Prior to the Switch 2's launch, Nintendo stated that US tariffs imposed on the console's release day were not factored into its $449.99 price point. However, these tariffs did impact pre-orders in the US, and once a new launch date was confirmed, Nintendo maintained that the Switch 2's price would remain the same, while accessory prices were increased due to market fluctuations.
