Intel Initiates New Round of Layoffs Affecting Approximately 107 Employees
Intel has embarked on a fresh round of layoffs, as reported by IT publication CRN, with the company issuing a WARN notice stating that roughly 107 employees at its Santa Clara headquarters will be impacted by the job cuts. The layoffs are slated to commence on July 15, 2025, with affected employees having received either a 60-day notice prior to their separation or a four-week notice accompanied by nine weeks of benefits. The affected divisions include various engineering teams, such as physical design, system-on-chip logic design, and software engineering, as well as managers in AI systems, IT, and project management. Intel reaffirmed its commitment to becoming a more streamlined and efficient company, stating that it is taking these steps to better serve its customers and enhance its execution. The company had previously announced plans for layoffs in the second quarter of 2025, citing the need to address organisational complexity and unnecessary bureaucracy. This latest round of job cuts follows a major restructuring effort last summer, which saw the company lay off around 15,000 employees worldwide as part of a $10 billion cost reduction plan.
