Epic Takes Legal Action Against Fortnite Cheat Software Developers and Resellers

Epic Games has initiated a lawsuit against the creators of Fortnite cheat software, including Sincey Cheats and Vanta Cheats, as well as several resellers of the software. The lawsuit, filed in North Carolina, targets Ediz Atas, also known as Sincey Cheats and Vanta Cheats, for allegedly developing and selling cheat software that provides unfair advantages to players, violating Epic's End User License Agreement and evading the company's anti-cheat measures. This has resulted in the banning of tens of thousands of Fortnite accounts since February 2022, with over 15,000 accounts banned in the US. Epic Games claims that the widespread use of cheat software hurts its revenue, as it deters legitimate players from purchasing season passes and cosmetics. The company is seeking statutory and compensatory damages for lost profits, attorney's fees, and other costs associated with the lawsuit.
