Empty Vessel Secures $11 Million in Series A Funding
Empty Vessel has successfully completed its Series A funding round, bringing the total amount raised to $11 million. The funding round was spearheaded by NCSoft and 1AM Gaming, with additional participation from Black Phoenix Games, Anurup Joseph, Sebastiaan Hejne, and initial investors Sisu Game Ventures, Raptor Group, and Compute. The investment will be utilized to drive the development of Defect, the studio's inaugural title, by increasing its team size and facilitating the development of console and single-player versions. According to Emanuel Palalic, CEO and game director, the developer-first approach has resonated with fans and investors, including NCSoft. The studio remains committed to creating a new genre in the FPS market with Defect and plans to accelerate its growth with the new investment.
