Tango Gameworks Debuts Refreshed Branding and Confirms Development of New Action Game
Tango Gameworks has officially announced that it is currently developing a new, as-yet-unannounced action game, marking an exciting new chapter for the studio. This revelation coincides with the launch of the studio's revamped website and branding, which includes a range of job openings across almost every department at its Tokyo studio. In a statement, the team expressed their enthusiasm, saying, "After months of anticipation, Tango Gameworks is back with a brand-new approach." The studio's new website offers a glimpse into its philosophy, as well as featurettes from team members, highlighting the studio's focus on creating games and experiences that embody a 'hand-made' feel. Following Microsoft's initial plans to shut down the studio in May 2024, Krafton, the publisher of PUBG, acquired Tango Gameworks and the Hi-Fi Rush IP as part of a strategic agreement. In a recent interview, Krafton's head of corporate development, Maria Park, noted that the team recognized Tango Gameworks' rich history of innovation and creativity, and was drawn to the studio's unique blend of craftsmanship and strong fandom, despite initial concerns about the studio's future after the departure of founder Shinji Mikami.
