CD Projekt Reports Steady Sales for Q1 2025
CD Projekt Red has released its financial report for the first quarter of 2025, showing a slight decline in sales and net profits. The company's sales remained relatively stable, with a minor decrease of 0.17% from PLN 226.7 million ($60.3 million) in the previous year to PLN 226.3 million ($60.2 million). Net profit dropped by 14% to PLN 86 million ($22.8 million) compared to PLN 100 million ($26.6 million) in the same period last year. CFO Piotr Nielubowicz attributed the Q1 earnings to the strong performance of Cyberpunk 2077 and its Phantom Liberty expansion, which has now sold over 10 million copies since its launch in September 2023. Additionally, CD Projekt announced that Cyberpunk 2 has entered the pre-production phase, with a focus on recruitment for this project in 2025. The development team has grown to over 730 members as of April 2025, with 420 developers focused on The Witcher 4. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has achieved significant sales, with over 60 million copies sold globally since its launch in 2015, generating PLN 2.4 billion ($638 million) in revenue. CD Projekt joint CEO MichaĆ Nowakowski highlighted the game's enduring quality and the company's goal to introduce the franchise to new players with the upcoming fourth installment. Nowakowski also emphasized the financial performance of The Witcher franchise, which contributes to CD Projekt Red's strong financial foundation, enabling the company to pursue new projects and shape the future of both The Witcher and Cyberpunk universes, as well as its third IP, codenamed Hadar.
