Elden Ring Film Adaptation in the Works with A24 and FromSoftware

A partnership between FromSoftware and A24 has been established to bring the Elden Ring universe to the big screen. Alex Garland, known for his work on Ex Machina and Annihilation, will be directing the film. Garland's impressive portfolio also includes writing credits for 28 Days Later and Sunshine, as well as the upcoming projects 28 Years Later and The Bone Temple. George R. R. Martin, the renowned author who contributed to Elden Ring's world-building, has joined the project as a producer. He will be working alongside producers Peter Rice, Vince Gerardis, Andrew Macdonald, and Allon Reich from DNA Films. The possibility of an Elden Ring adaptation was first hinted at by Martin last year, who playfully addressed the rumors in a blog post. FromSoftware's president, Hidetaka Miyazaki, also expressed interest in exploring adaptations of the game during an interview with The Guardian, emphasizing the need for a strong partner to bring the project to life. A24 is also involved in another high-profile game adaptation, a Death Stranding movie, in collaboration with Kojima Productions. The film is reportedly set to be directed by Michael Sarnoski, known for his work on A Quiet Place: Day One.
