Gamecity Hamburg Awards Funding to Six Innovative Games in Latest Prototype Funding Round

Gamecity Hamburg has concluded its seventh Prototype Funding round, awarding six digital games with grants of up to €80,000 to support the development of commercially viable prototypes in Hamburg. The application period for the next funding round is set to commence in spring 2026. This year's recipients include: NeverLight by Nightless Games, Pet Universe by Tivola Games, Space Station Manager by GameXcite, Unbreachable by Buckfish, Deep Fog Signals by Symmetry Break Studios, and Cosmic Run by Zinktank Labs, with funding amounts ranging from €30,000 to €80,000. According to Dennis Schoubye, head of Gamecity Hamburg, the high caliber of submissions led to a rigorous selection process. The funded projects demonstrate a diverse range of genres, concepts, and teams, underscoring Gamecity Hamburg's commitment to supporting both established and emerging game development companies in the region. The awarding committee, comprising industry experts such as Nina Müller, Jonas Hüsges, Valentina Birke, Michael Schade, and Dennis Schoubye, carefully selected the grant recipients. In addition to its Prototype Funding program, Gamecity Hamburg offers the Games Lift incubator, which provides €15,000 in start-up funding, coaching, and mentorship to five teams of developers and start-ups. The application period for the Games Lift incubator is currently open until June 10, 2025.
