TaleMonster Games Secures $7 Million Funding
TaleMonster Games, a developer of casual mobile games, has successfully raised $7 million in its latest funding round. Led by General Catalyst and supported by notable investors such as a16z speedrun, Arcadia Gaming Partners, and Ludus Ventures, this investment will fuel the studio's mission to shake up the casual gaming landscape. According to CEO Irem Sumer, the casual game market has become too predictable and optimized, prioritizing efficiency over enjoyment. TaleMonster Games seeks to challenge this status quo by creating games that cater to the evolving skills and preferences of modern players. The studio's inaugural title, Match Valley, a match-3 game available on both Android and iOS, has already garnered over 5,000 downloads on Google Play. With a team boasting extensive experience from renowned game developers like Peak Games, TaleMonster Games is poised to make a significant impact. The funding will be utilized to expand the team, develop innovative 'reusable systems,' and streamline content delivery for Match Valley and future projects. As noted by Ludus Ventures' İsmet Gökşen, TaleMonster Games is pioneering a fresh approach to the genre with engaging gameplay, as evidenced by the impressive average daily playtime of over 50 minutes among early players.
