Capcom Achieves Eighth Consecutive Year of Record Profits, Driven by Monster Hunter Wilds' 10.1 Million Sales

Capcom has announced record profits for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025, fueled by the impressive sales of Monster Hunter Wilds, which reached 10.1 million copies, and robust catalogue sales across its various franchises. The company reported net sales of ¥169.6 billion ($1.15 billion), with operating profit increasing for the twelfth consecutive year. Key financial highlights for the 12 months ending March 31, 2025, include net sales of ¥169.6 billion ($1.15 billion), representing an 11.3% year-over-year increase, and net income of ¥48.45 billion ($328 million), up 11.7% from the previous year. Monster Hunter Wilds was a major driver of new releases, with its February 2025 launch generating significant interest in existing series entries. The series has now surpassed 100 million copies sold worldwide, while the mobile title Monster Hunter Now has exceeded 15 million downloads. Catalogue sales, which include games released in prior fiscal years, totaled 39.49 million units, up from 36.29 million in the previous year. Notable sales figures include Monster Hunter: World, which added 3.19 million units to reach a total of 28.51 million, and Resident Evil 4's remake, which sold an additional 2.76 million copies to reach 9.92 million units sold. The company also reported significant sales for its expansions, including Monster Hunter World's Iceborne DLC, which added 2.6 million sales to reach a total of 15.2 million, and Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, which sold an additional 2.13 million copies to reach 9.88 million. Other franchises, such as Street Fighter 6, Devil May Cry 5, and Dragon's Dogma 2, also saw substantial catalogue sales activity. Capcom's digital content business generated ¥125.1 billion ($846 million) in sales, representing a 4.4% year-on-year increase. The company's esports initiatives, including two Street Fighter 6 championship tournaments, attracted 14,000 visitors and over 10 million online views. Looking ahead to the next fiscal year, Capcom projects net sales to increase by 12% to ¥190 billion ($1.28 billion) and net income to rise by 5.3% to ¥51 billion ($344 million), driven by the anticipated success of upcoming titles, including Capcom Fighting Collection 2, Onimusha 2 remaster, and Switch 2 ports of games like Street Fighter 6 and Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess.
