NCsoft Invests in Empty Vessel to Fuel Growth

Texas-based Empty Vessel has secured a strategic investment from renowned game developer and publisher NCsoft. The deal, facilitated through NCsoft's North American subsidiary NC West, signifies the start of a lasting collaboration, including publishing rights for Empty Vessel's forthcoming first-person shooter, Defect. Empty Vessel's CEO, Emanuel Palalic, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting NCsoft's understanding of the studio's mission to create not only engaging games but also a nurturing environment for its developers. NCsoft's backing and expertise are expected to propel Defect and Empty Vessel to new heights. NCsoft co-CEO Byung-moo Park praised Empty Vessel as an AAA development studio, emphasizing the company's commitment to investing in innovative global IPs and genre-specific game development. This investment follows NCsoft's recent funding of Moon Rover Games and underscores its strategy of supporting promising game studios. Founded in March 2024 by industry veterans from Naughty Dog, Id Software, and Activision, Empty Vessel is led by CEO Emanuel Palalic and COO Garrett Young, and has already secured initial seed funding from notable investors including Sisu Game Ventures, Raptor Group, Bill Munk, and Dan Bunting.
