Former PlatinumGames Developer Takahisa Taura Establishes New Game Studio

Following his departure from PlatinumGames, Takahisa Taura has announced the formation of a new game development studio. As reported by VGC and confirmed by Taura himself in an interview with Famitsu, he is one of the founding members of Eel Game Studio. Although details about the studio's current projects are scarce, Taura's involvement marks an exciting new chapter in his career. This news comes after PlatinumGames co-founder Hideki Kamiya's own departure from the company in September 2023, who has since returned to Capcom to head a new studio called Clovers, currently working on the sequel to the classic title Okami. In a recent interview, Kamiya expressed his reasons for leaving PlatinumGames, citing concerns for the well-being of his former colleagues and extending an invitation to those who share his vision to join him at Clovers.
