Electronic Arts Announces Additional 200 Job Cuts to Fuel Future Expansion, Bringing Total to Approximately 300

In a move to drive long-term growth, Electronic Arts has undertaken a new round of layoffs, impacting 200 employees. This development follows the earlier announcement of 100 job cuts at Respawn, an EA-owned studio. The current layoffs primarily affect EA's Experiences team, which handles customer support, fan engagement, and marketing. However, other departments within EA have also been affected. The company stated, "To better align our teams and resources with our strategic priorities, we have made some adjustments within our organization, aiming to fuel future growth." EA has emphasized its commitment to treating affected employees with care, exploring internal opportunities for them when possible, and providing support during the transition. These layoffs are in addition to the 100 staff reductions at Respawn, where two early-stage projects were cancelled, and cuts were made across the Apex Legends and Star Wars: Jedi teams.
