Unity Unveils Recipients of 2025 Humanity Grant
Unity has revealed the winners of its 2025 Unity for Humanity Grant, acknowledging the outstanding work of ten visionary developers hailing from nine countries. The chosen winners will benefit from the Unity Charitable Grant, which has seen its funding increased to $600,000. This investment aims to accelerate the development of innovative projects, facilitate the creation of functional prototypes, and drive marketing and distribution efforts. The selection process prioritized submissions that effectively addressed pressing global challenges aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, as well as demonstrating exceptional vision, potential impact, inclusivity, and viability. Notable winners include Split Studio, Boland Parwaz, and the World Ocean Observatory. Jubilee Studios' American Sign Language education app, Small Talk ASL, garnered the most votes in the final round and also received the prestigious Judges' Choice Award. Additionally, three honorable mentions were awarded to Megapop for its interactive coral reef experience Life Below, Birmingham City University for its multiplayer stroke rehabilitation game ReelConnect, and Mr. iO Studios for its mental health-focused platformer Sami. This year, Unity introduced a new Student Award category, recognizing the remarkable projects developed by Belfast-based startup Rephobia and its VR exposure platform, as well as RCareWorld by Cornell University's Emprise Lab.
