Assassin's Creed Shadows Secures Second Place in March 2025 Revenue Rankings

Assassin's Creed Shadows made a strong debut, claiming the second spot on Newzoo's overall revenue chart for March, following its mid-month release. Notably, a significant portion of the game's total revenue was generated from Steam sales, marking a departure from previous franchise entries. As the first Ubisoft title to launch on Steam since 2019, Assassin's Creed Shadows benefited from its day-one availability on the platform. Ubisoft had previously halted releases on Steam due to the platform's business model, which it deemed unrealistic. However, the publisher resumed releasing games on Steam in 2022, starting with Assassin's Creed Valhalla. The March revenue charts saw six new titles in the top 10, including MLB The Show 25, Split Fiction, and WWE 2K25. Semiwork Studios' R.E.P.O. saw a remarkable surge from 165 to 11, following its early access release on February 26, attributed to its low price and positive reviews. R.E.P.O. further climbed the player engagement charts, reaching 12, with over 10 million monthly active users, demonstrating the game's engaging gameplay and innovative approach. Crime sim Schedule 1 followed at 12 on the revenue charts, with its accessible price and engaging gameplay contributing to its success. Krafton's Inzoi also performed well, surpassing one million sales within a week of its early access release. On Newzoo's player engagement charts, R.E.P.O. was the standout, while Assassin's Creed Shadows and Atomfall ranked 16 and 18 on Xbox's individual chart, respectively.
