Ian Livingstone Joins PlanetPlay as Ambassador, Promoting Sustainability in Gaming

PlanetPlay, a not-for-profit organization, has introduced Ian Livingstone, a renowned figure in the gaming industry, as one of its new ambassadors, alongside actress Briana Evigan and Formula E champion Pascal Wehrlein, as part of its ongoing Make Green Moves initiative. The ambassadors will collaborate with PlanetPlay to promote eco-friendly practices within the gaming sector by creating content for participating games and increasing awareness through panel discussions at industry and consumer events. To date, the organization's Make Green Moves campaign has generated $2.2 million for environmental projects, with all funds directly supporting these causes. PlanetPlay is also teaming up with Summer Game Fest 2025 to launch the Green Games Showcase, a livestream event highlighting games that support environmental causes. The goal is to raise $300,000 by June 30, 2025, with the proceeds going towards habitat restoration in Timor-Leste in partnership with WithOneSeed. According to Ian Livingstone, 'The gaming industry has the power to inspire and drive positive change, and I'm excited to be part of PlanetPlay's mission to harness this power for the benefit of the planet.' PlanetPlay CEO Rhea Loucas noted, 'Video games have the unique ability to connect people, inspire action, and make change feel achievable. As we celebrate Earth Month and Earth Day, we're intensifying our efforts to capitalize on this momentum and help gamers make a meaningful impact on the environment.'
