Gamurs Group Implements Further Staff Reductions
Reports have emerged that Gamurs Group, the media conglomerate behind prominent websites such as Dot Esports, Twinfinite, Prima Games, Siliconera, and The Escapist, has conducted another round of layoffs towards the end of the previous week. According to updates shared on LinkedIn, several key staff members have been impacted by the recent job cuts, including Evergreen Updates Editor Chris Jecks, SEO Manager Jonna Turner, Lead Data Analyst Thomas Tallentire, Content Strategist Anne Banks, and Assigning Editor Christian Smith. GamesIndustry.biz has contacted Gamurs Group to solicit a statement regarding the extent of the staff affected in this most recent round of layoffs and will provide an update if a response is received. This development marks the latest in a series of layoffs at Gamurs-owned outlets since the beginning of 2025. Previously, in March, editors at The Mary Sue and The Escapist, both owned by Gamurs, reported their termination. Similarly, in February, editors at Destructoid took to social media to announce their layoffs. Furthermore, as noted on BlueSky, the long-standing PC enthusiast website PC Invasion is currently inaccessible and now redirects to the Prima Games website. Writers on social media have confirmed that content from PC Invasion has been migrated to Prima Games. Notably, PC Invasion remains listed as one of Gamurs' brands on the company's official website. This latest round of layoffs follows two prior instances in July and September of 2024 that garnered significant attention.
