Tequila Works Puts Game Rights and Intellectual Property Up for Auction Following Bankruptcy

Following its insolvency filing last November, Tequila Works has initiated an auction for its game rights and intellectual property. The Spanish game developer has created a page on the Escrapalia auction site, where it is selling off its intangible assets, including intellectual properties, games in development, and the studio's branding. Among the listed items are the adventure platformer Rime, the action-adventure puzzle game Gylt, and the debut title Deadlight, with trademarks and rights available for purchase. Additionally, the auction includes vertical slices for unreleased projects such as The Ancient Mariner, Dungeon Tour, and Brawler Crawler, as well as the studio's branding, website, and social media handles. Tequila Works' insolvency was attributed to prolonged market difficulties, which led to a reduction in staff last year. Prior to this, Tencent had become a majority investor in the studio, providing funding to support the development of new original intellectual property.
