Twin Sails Interactive Gains Independence from Asmodee Group
Following a strategic management buyout, Twin Sails Interactive has announced its independence from Asmodee Group, a leading tabletop publisher. The company will retain its existing team, including CEO Nicolas Godement, production director Laurent Lichnewsky, and marketing director Adrien Rotondo, as part of the transition. According to Godement, "This new chapter is an exciting development for Twin Sails Interactive. Our experience within Asmodee was incredibly valuable, and we appreciate the collaboration that helped shape our journey so far. Now, as an independent publisher, we are confident in our ability to pursue our bold vision for the future." Asmodee CEO Thomas Koegler also commented on the transition, stating, "This marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter, ensuring continuity while allowing both Asmodee and Twin Sails Interactive to thrive in their respective areas of expertise. We look forward to Twin Sails Interactive continuing to achieve success and innovate, bringing fresh and engaging experiences to players worldwide. We wish them a journey filled with success, creativity, and new opportunities." Originally founded in 2016 as Asmodee Digital and rebranded in 2022, Twin Sails Interactive was previously the games division of Asmodee. The company is known for releasing digital versions of popular board games, including Gloomhaven, Terraforming Mars, and Catan titles, as well as publishing games like Ember Knights, Survival: Fountain of Youth, and News Tower. Marketing director Adrien Rotondo expressed the company's commitment to championing creative titles with strong visual identities and passionate teams behind them. "Our goal is to work with our partner studios to create long-lasting game brands that grow through updates, new content, and new titles in the series," Twin Sails Interactive's former parent company, Asmodee, was acquired by Embracer for €2.75 billion in 2021. Last year, Embracer Group split into three companies, including Asmodee, following a nine-month restructuring program that resulted in the closure of three studios and the layoff of over 1,400 employees.
