National Videogame Museum Welcomes New Board Members

The National Videogame Museum has announced the appointment of new trustees to its governing charity, The BGI. The nine new members will join the board in two phases, with the first group already on board as of March 2025 and the second group set to join in November 2025. This expansion is expected to enhance the museum's governance and support its ongoing goals and aspirations. The new trustees bring a wealth of experience from various sectors, including game development, cultural institutions, brand management, and technological innovation. The museum, based in Sheffield, aims to leverage the expertise of its new trustees to elevate its profile and strengthen its mission to showcase video game culture, engage with audiences, and interact with the wider industry. The newly appointed trustees are: David Barrie, founder and CEO of Game Academy; Joe Chetcuti, creative director of Creative Assembly; Emma Cooper, creative industries knowledge transfer manager at Innovate UK; Natalie Kane, curator of digital design at The V&A; and Nick Poole, chief executive of Ukie. The next phase of appointments will include Brian Baglow, founder of Scottish Games Week; John Booth, senior director at Sony Interactive Entertainment; Emily Britt, senior communications manager at Sharkmob; and Jess Gaskell, director of PMO at Sumo Digital. According to NVM chair of the board of trustees Claire Boissiere, 'We are delighted to welcome our new trustees to the board. Their vast experience will be invaluable as we embark on a new chapter in the NVM's journey, expanding our national presence and advancing our mission.
