Acclaim Revitalized Under New Leadership with CEO Alex Josef

The 1990s game publisher Acclaim has been rebooted, with a team of seasoned industry professionals aiming to support independent game developers and revive classic game franchises. At the helm is CEO Alex Josef, formerly the founder and CEO of Graffiti Games, who intends to provide independent studios with essential resources such as funding, marketing, and public relations support. To facilitate this endeavor, Acclaim has assembled an advisory board featuring prominent industry figures, including Russell Binder, founding partner of Striker Entertainment, Mark Caplan, founder of Ridge Partners, and Jeff Jarrett, founder of Global Force Entertainment and a professional wrestler. Acclaim's growth strategy is further bolstered by partnerships with VaynerFund's Phil Toronto and Jet Management's Eric Vogel. 'It is an absolute privilege to be at the forefront of Acclaim's resurgence in the gaming industry,' stated Alex Josef, CEO of Acclaim. 'We are fortunate to have an exceptionally talented team and have already secured some remarkable indie titles, which will be unveiled soon.' Jeff Jarrett added, 'Having been part of both the wrestling and gaming worlds for over three decades, I am thrilled to be involved in Acclaim's revival. From my early days working with Acclaim on 16-bit WWF games to my role in shaping TNA Wrestling services, I have witnessed the impact great games can have on players and fans. Revitalizing Acclaim presents an opportunity to bring the same level of passion and dedication to a new generation, and I am excited to be a part of it.' Originally founded in 1987, Acclaim evolved into a global publisher, developer, and mass marketer, introducing iconic franchises like Mortal Kombat, Turok, and NBA Jam to home consoles, as well as adapting popular titles such as The Simpsons, Alien 3, Judge Dredd, and Batman Forever into games.
