The Game Assembly Announces UK Expansion in Partnership with City of Liverpool College

The Game Assembly, a renowned Swedish institution for game development education, is set to expand its operations to the UK through a partnership with the City of Liverpool College. This collaboration will introduce The Game Assembly's educational model to students in the UK, providing them with the opportunity to acquire skills in game development. Commencing in autumn 2025, the institution will offer three two-year higher education courses, each concentrating on a distinct discipline: game programming, level design, and game art. By replicating real-world work environments, The Game Assembly aims to foster a collaborative and industry-standard atmosphere, allowing students from various disciplines to work together. At the end of each academic year, students will have the chance to showcase their portfolios to potential employers, facilitating their entry into the gaming industry. The Game Assembly's approach has yielded impressive results in Sweden, with 97% of graduates securing employment in the industry shortly after completing their courses. According to City of Liverpool College Group Principal and Chief Executive Elaine Bowker, this partnership underscores the college's commitment to innovation in adult learning and reinforces its exceptional gaming offerings. The Game Assembly's Head of Business and Product, Per-Anders Ring, views the UK expansion as a natural progression, given the institution's success in Sweden. The choice of Liverpool as the expansion location is attributed to the city's growing gaming industry, making it an ideal setting for The Game Assembly's UK endeavors. Founded in Malmö, Sweden in 2008, The Game Assembly expanded to Stockholm in 2019, prior to its latest venture into the UK market.
