Monopoly Go Generates $112m of Hasbro's $472m Digital Gaming Revenue for 2024
Hasbro reported a 22% year-over-year increase in digital and licensed gaming revenue, reaching $471.7 million. Notably, $112 million of this revenue was attributed to Monopoly Go by Scopely. Although the Magic: The Gathering franchise experienced a modest 4% growth in its Wizards of the Coast and Digital Gaming segment, the revenue from Magic: The Gathering itself declined by 1% due to the previous year's release of the Lord of the Rings set. Despite this, Hasbro's overall full-year revenue declined by 17% year-over-year to $4.1 billion, a decrease the company attributes to the divestiture of eOne. Chris Cocks, Hasbro's CEO, expressed pride in the team's accomplishments, citing growth in games and licensing, improved operational efficiency, and enhanced performance in the toy business. Looking ahead to 2025, Cocks announced plans to introduce a strong lineup of toys and games, expand partnerships, and maintain a focus on operational rigor and innovation in the future of play.
