Unity Reports 25% Decline in Q4 Revenue to $457 Million
Unity has announced its Q4 and full-year financial results, revealing a 25% year-over-year decrease in revenue for the fourth quarter, surpassing the previously estimated range of $422-427 million. The company also exceeded its full-year guidance of $1.7-1.71 billion. Key highlights include: Q4 2024 revenue of $457 million, down 25% year-over-year, with Create Solutions revenue at $152 million, down 47%, and Grow Solutions revenue at $305 million, down 5%. The net loss for Q4 was $123 million, compared to $254 million in the same quarter last year. For the full year, revenue was $1.81 billion, down 17% year-over-year, with a net loss of $664 million, compared to $826 million in 2023. Unity attributes the decline to its 'portfolio reset,' which included the cancellation of its runtime fee and the appointment of new executives. Despite the overall decline, Unity saw a 4% rise in revenue for its strategic portfolio to $442 million, and a successful launch of Unity 6, with 2.8 million downloads and 38% of active users upgrading. The company is optimistic about its future, citing progress in AI for advertising customers and the appeal of its new pricing model.
