Sony Refutes Allegations of Damaging Former Director's Reputation, Cites Evidence of Misconduct

Sony has responded to claims that it intentionally harmed the reputation of former Marathon reboot director Chris Barrett, stating that its investigations uncovered a pattern of misconduct. According to Sony, Barrett would often target female employees with whom he didn't directly work, starting with friendly conversations that gradually became more inappropriate. Barrett allegedly made references to his wealth and ability to advance their careers, making them feel uncomfortable and pressured. In a lawsuit filed in December, Barrett accused Sony and Bungie of deliberately damaging his reputation to avoid paying him $45 million. However, Sony's investigation revealed that Barrett's behavior was consistent and predatory, causing multiple victims to seek guidance from other employees and report feeling afraid for their jobs. Barrett's lawyers have denied these allegations, stating that Sony is cherry-picking evidence to defame him and justify his termination.
