Nintendo Ends Gold Points Reward Scheme
As of March 24, 2025, Nintendo's My Nintendo Gold Points program will come to an end. After this date, it will no longer be possible to accumulate Gold Points through the purchase of digital content, including purchases made using Nintendo eShop card balances. Although some retailers may still sell Nintendo eShop cards that advertise the earning of Gold Points, these points will not be awarded for purchases made using these cards. However, the full value of the cards can still be redeemed. Consumers who have pre-ordered digital content or bought a physical game before the cutoff date can still earn Gold Points. Any accumulated points will remain valid until the last day of the month, one year after they were earned. It's worth noting that physical games released on or before March 24, 2025, will still be eligible for Gold Points, regardless of the purchase date, whereas games released after this date will not qualify. This announcement follows the recent unveiling of the Switch 2, which features innovative magnetically attachable Joy-Cons and a USB-C port.
