Toast Interactive Reduces Workforce and Closes Office

Toast Interactive, an Australian-based VR development studio, has announced that it will be significantly downsizing its operations, resulting in the closure of its office and the redundancy of most of its staff. In a statement released on social media, co-founders Toni and Richard Eastes expressed their regret over the decision but did not provide specific reasons for it. This move comes after the studio laid off ten employees last November, citing difficulties in maintaining a large independent team. The co-founders described the decision as "heartbreaking" and expressed their gratitude and pride in the team's accomplishments, including the development of Max Mustard. They also assured that they will provide support to their former staff and announced plans to continue improving Richie's Plank Experience and Max Mustard with a more efficient approach. When questioned about the status of Richie's Plank Experience on PSVR2, the studio expressed confidence that the release would proceed as planned. Founded in 2016, Toast Interactive is known for its VR games, including Richie's Plank Experience and Max Mustard.
