DICE Awards 2025: Astro Bot and Helldivers 2 Take Top Honors

The 28th DICE Awards saw a major sweep by Team Asobi and Arrowhead Studios, with Astro Bot receiving the Game of the Year award and a total of five accolades, including Family Game of the Year, and recognition for its achievements in animation, technology, and game design. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 was named Action and Online Game of the Year, and received praise for its music and audio design. Other notable winners include LocalThunk's Balatro, which took home three awards, including Mobile and Strategy Simulation Game of the Year, as well as MachineGames' Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which won Adventure Game of the Year and received recognition for its character and story. The DICE Awards, hosted by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, are voted on by the organization's over 30,000 members. The ceremony also honored Nintendo of America veteran Don James with the AIAS Lifetime Achievement Award and inducted Insomniac Games founder Ted Prince into the AIAS Hall of Fame.
