Koei Tecmo Announces Leadership Transition with Hisashi Koinuma as New CEO
Koei Tecmo has appointed Hisashi Koinuma as its new CEO, effective April 1, 2025. Koinuma, currently serving as COO, will also take on the roles of director and president. Meanwhile, co-founder and current CEO Yoichi Erikawa will transition into the position of chairperson of Koei Tecmo Holdings and representative director. Keiko Erikawa, the existing chairperson and representative director, will assume the roles of director and chairman emeritus. The company also plans to establish a new subsidiary, Koei Tecmo Corporate Finance, which will focus on investment activities. In a statement, the company expressed its ambition to become the world's leading digital entertainment company, driven by the principles of 'creativity and contribution'. The leadership transition is part of the company's efforts to achieve further growth and profitability, as it moves into the fiscal year 2025. This announcement comes on the heels of Koei Tecmo's recent settlement of an intellectual property infringement case against Youzu, in which the latter admitted to and apologized for infringing on Koei Tecmo's game titles, including Nobunaga's Ambition and Taiko Risshiden.
