Dead Astronauts Secures €4 Million in Seed Funding

Dead Astronauts, a Swedish game development studio, has successfully raised €4 million in a heavily oversubscribed seed funding round, led by Behold Ventures. The investment will be used to grow the studio's core team and drive development of its forthcoming open-world action-adventure game, codenamed Veil, built utilizing Unreal Engine 5. The funding round drew participation from notable investors, including Lifelike Capital, 1Up Ventures, and Acequia Capital, alongside contributions from angel investors such as Matt Bilbey, Are Mack Growen, Klaas Kersting, Asbjoern Malte Soendergaard, and Kristian Segerstråle. In a statement, co-founders Erik Morin and Tobias Nyman expressed their excitement at completing the seed round, stating, "We're thrilled to have secured the necessary funding to bring our vision for Dead Astronauts to life as a next-generation game studio." They added, "Despite current market challenges, we see vast opportunities to revolutionize open-world gaming and drive innovative technology forward. We're grateful for the support of our investors, who share our passion for creating bold, new player experiences." Dead Astronauts was established in 2024 by industry veterans Tobias Nyman, Erik Morin, Robert Moschos, and Thomas Tedemalm.
