nDreams Launches New Internal Studio and Restructures Operations

nDreams has unveiled a new studio, Compass, as part of its restructuring efforts, which included the shutdown of two other studios, nDreams Studio Orbital and nDreams Studio. This move follows the company's announcement last September, which put up to 17.5% of staff at risk of redundancy. Despite the closures, many employees from the affected studios have been retained and will be part of the new Compass studio or other teams within nDreams. The company now comprises three studios: Compass, nDreams Studio Elevation, and Near Light. Callum Godfrey, an industry expert with experience at Activision, Electronic Arts, and King, will helm Compass. Godfrey joined nDreams in November 2023 as the head of third-party publishing. The Compass team consists of 40 members who have worked on notable games like Synapse. According to Godfrey, Compass is well-positioned to cater to the evolving needs of VR gamers, and the studio will focus on creating titles that resonate with the new generation of VR players, leveraging nDreams' extensive VR expertise.
