Kukouri Mobile Shifts Focus Away from Game Development

Kukouri Mobile Entertainment has announced its departure from the game development scene. As reported by PocketGamer.biz, the company has sold the rights to its Pixel Worlds and Tiny Troopers franchises to Social First. According to CEO Petri Piipari, the decision was driven by the fact that Pixel Worlds had not been generating sufficient revenue for some time. With Tiny Troopers already licensed to an external publisher and developer, the company made the difficult decision to discontinue all gaming operations. A notice on the official website now confirms the shutdown, expressing gratitude to fans for their support over the years. Social First, on the other hand, viewed the acquisition of Kukouri's portfolio as a straightforward decision, citing the desire to secure the intellectual properties as a way to honor the legacy of their team members. The company's CEO, Kim Soares, highlighted the exceptional online community that Pixel Worlds had fostered, hoping to reunite this community within their new project, Nexus Station, which is currently in development.
