UK's Independent Screen Industry Receives Additional £2m Investment from BFI

The British Film Institute (BFI) has announced 26 new investments totaling £2.15m, bolstering the UK's independent screen sector. This funding, provided by the UK government's Department for Culture, Media, and Sport, aims to facilitate new business partnerships, elevate the global profile of British companies, and increase revenue through international expansion. The awards, ranging from £50,000 to £200,000, have been shown to generate a significant return on investment, with every £1 yielding £22 in net benefits. This round of funding has been awarded to several companies, including Fireblade Software, Hazimation, Hyper Luminal, Keelworks, and Wired Productions, which will utilize the grants to create new roles, such as programmers and production staff, or to hire business development support.
