Winking Studios Proposes Acquisition of Mineloader in £16.3 Million Deal
Winking Studios, a leading outsourcing and development company, has unveiled plans to acquire Mineloader, a Shanghai-based studio, in a deal worth £16.3 million. The acquisition price includes an initial payment of £14.7 million and a performance-based deferred payment to be made over the next five years. The transaction is anticipated to be finalized by the second quarter of 2025. According to Johnny Jan, founder and CEO of Winking Studios, this acquisition represents a significant milestone, bolstering the company's presence in the global video games industry. The integration of Mineloader's 460-strong team into Winking Studios' existing workforce of over 800 employees is expected to enhance service offerings and attract new clients. Jan highlighted the potential for revenue diversification through Mineloader's expertise in console platform games, as well as opportunities for increased business synergies, cross-selling, and improved scalability. This move follows Winking Studios' successful dual listing on the London Stock Exchange last November, which raised $10 million.
