Huuuge Games Reduces Workforce by 29%
Huuuge Games, a Poland-based mobile game developer and publisher, has revealed plans to downsize its workforce by 29%, impacting 122 employees. The majority of the affected staff, 89, are based in the company's Polish studio, accounting for 21% of the local workforce. These redundancies are expected to be finalized by February 2025. In addition to the layoffs, Huuuge Games is shutting down its studios in the Netherlands and Finland, and will discontinue new game development to focus on its social casino titles. The company will also stop funding Bananaz Studios, resulting in a $3.5 million write-down of its assets. According to Huuuge CEO Wojciech Wronowski, "We appreciate the contributions of our team members and are providing support to those affected during this transition. Although these decisions are difficult, they demonstrate our commitment to streamlining operations and enhancing innovation." As part of its strategic overhaul, Huuuge Games has appointed Maciej Hebda as treasurer and EVP of finance, effective April 1, 2025, following the resignation of Marek ChwaĆek.
