Space Ape Games has undergone expansion with the launch of NextBeat, its latest studio. According to a report by PocketGamer, Space Ape co-founder Simon Hade has taken on the role of CEO at NextBeat, accompanied by key team members including George Yao as product manager, Imogen Turner as head of operations, and Daisy Fletcher overseeing live operations and player management. Hade expressed his enthusiasm for the new project on LinkedIn, stating that it has been in development with Supercell for some time and that further details will be disclosed soon. The studio's initial lineup is expected to include notable Space Ape properties, Beatstar and Country Star. This development follows Supercell's increased investment in Space Ape in November, where it acquired a majority stake in the London-based studio. The establishment of NextBeat marks Supercell's first foray into the UK, with CEO Ilkka Paananen highlighting the company's commitment to fostering top-tier game development teams and its excitement to become a part of London's thriving gaming community.
