Grand Games Lands $30 Million in Series A Funding
Grand Games, a mobile gaming studio, has successfully secured $30 million in its Series A funding round, led by prominent investor Balderton Capital. The round also saw participation from existing investors, including Bek Ventures, Laton Ventures, and notable angel investor Mert Gür. The newly acquired funds will be utilized to fuel the studio's aggressive expansion into the global gaming market and support the launch of a brand-new title slated for release in 2025. Furthermore, the studio is poised to significantly expand its workforce, growing from 14 employees to over 40 by the end of the year. Suranga Chandratillake, General Partner at Balderton Capital, praised the founders of Grand Games, highlighting their exceptional vision for creating genre-defining, casual games that have garnered significant player love. Chandratillake also commended the team's ability to build a strong, brilliant team culture and achieve substantial success with their initial two game releases, demonstrating their dedication and talent. Prior to this round, Grand Games had raised $3 million in a pre-seed funding round in July of the previous year. The studio was founded in January 2024 by its visionary co-founders, Bekir Batuhan, Mustafa Fırtına, and Mehmet Çalım.
