Wonder Legends Studios Secures $1 Million in Pre-Seed Funding

Wonder Legends Studio, a Poland-based transmedia developer, has successfully raised $1 million in its pre-seed funding round, led by SMOK Ventures. The studio is currently developing a game prototype and pre-producing an animated series as part of a European co-production scheme. The game has received co-funding from The Creative Industries Development Center, while the series has been co-funded by the Polish Film Institute. Additionally, the studio has been awarded an Epic MegaGrant. Both projects are being developed using Unreal Engine 5 and are set in a world that combines elements of Greek mythology and steampunk. The game and the first season of the animated series are slated for release in late 2027 or early 2028. Founded in 2023 by Artur Malczyk and Wojciech Karubin, the studio comprises 15 industry veterans and has been working on these projects since 2019. The founders expressed their excitement about completing the pre-seed round with SMOK Ventures, citing it as a testament to the trust in their vision and hard work. They are confident that Wonder Legends has the potential to become a major IP from Poland, enhancing the country's reputation in the creative industry. SMOK Ventures' founding partner, Diana Koziarska, praised the studio's innovative approach, stating that their bold ideas and pioneering transmedia production model are setting a new standard for storytelling. She expressed pride in backing their vision and enthusiasm for seeing them represent Poland on the global creative map.
