Sony Introduces Xyn, a Revolutionary VR Headset for 3D Content Creation
Sony has unveiled its latest extended reality innovation, the Xyn headset, designed to facilitate the creation of 3D models for various industries such as film, animation, and gaming. Unveiled at CES and officially launched on January 7, the Xyn headset, pronounced 'zin', features cutting-edge 4K OLED displays, video passthrough, and compatibility with third-party design and production tools. By leveraging its proprietary technology, Xyn can accurately replicate real-world environments and integrate seamlessly with a broad range of third-party applications, thereby streamlining workflows. A demonstration video showcases the device's versatility, including its flip-up screen and compatibility with the Xyn Motion Studio app. Although a release date and pricing details have not been announced, this development comes on the heels of Meta's withdrawal of its Quest Pro headset from the market, and follows Sony's recent acquisition of a larger stake in Kadokawa Corporation, solidifying its position as the largest shareholder of the FromSoftware parent company.
