Sonic Film Series Surpasses $1 Billion Mark at the Global Box Office

The Sonic film series by Paramount Pictures has achieved a milestone, crossing the $1 billion threshold at the global box office. According to reports, the third Sonic film, released on December 20, amassed $336.3 million in global sales and $211.5 million in its first week. The first two films in the series, released in 2020 and 2022, collectively earned $725.2 million and have generated an additional $181 million from online purchases and rentals. The third instalment, featuring Keanu Reeves as Shadow the Hedgehog, received critical acclaim with an 86% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. With a fourth film in development, producers Neal H. Moritz and Toby Ascher expressed their gratitude, stating, "The overwhelming response to the Sonic films from fans worldwide has been incredible, and we're proud to be part of the team that has built this franchise.
