Dark Passenger, Founded by Ex-CD Projekt Developers, Secures $3 Million in Funding

Dark Passenger, a Polish game development studio founded by veterans of CD Projekt, has successfully raised $3 million in a funding round. The investment, led by The Games Fund and supported by Blite Fund, will be used to drive the development of the studio's first game: a first-person multiplayer stealth-action title set in a unique universe inspired by Feudal Japan. The funding will also facilitate the expansion of the team, which currently comprises around 30 members, with plans to grow to over 60 employees by the game's launch. Established two years ago by former CD Projekt staff, including co-founders Jakub Ben and Paweł Kuleta, Dark Passenger's team boasts a wealth of experience, with members having previously worked on notable projects such as The Witcher 3 and having been part of esteemed studios like People Can Fly and Flying Wild Hog. According to Jakub Ben, CEO of Dark Passenger, the studio sees vast untapped potential in the multiplayer landscape and is committed to delivering a bold, unapologetic gaming experience. The Games Fund's co-founder and managing partner, Ilia Eremeev, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the team's exceptional talent and the game's potential to provide an exciting, undiluted power fantasy.
