Epic Games Forms Strategic Partnership with Telefónica

In a significant move, Epic Games has forged a partnership with telecommunications giant Telefónica. This alliance will result in the Epic Games Store, along with the popular game Fortnite, being pre-installed on certain Android devices. The agreement covers compatible Android devices operating on Telefónica's networks in several regions, including the UK, Spain, Germany, and Spanish-speaking Latin America. The collaboration is set to expand in 2025, with plans to make additional games from third-party developers accessible. Following the global launch of its mobile store in August 2024, which featured titles such as Fortnite, Rocket League Sideswipe, and Fall Guys Mobile, Epic Games announced further ambitions for the store in October. These plans include offering up to 50 titles from third-party developers and introducing a giveaway program, initially available on the PC marketplace, by the end of the year. Additionally, self-publishing tools are slated for release in 2025.
