People Can Fly Faces Further Layoffs

People Can Fly, a Polish game development studio, has undergone another round of layoffs, impacting more than 120 staff members. According to a statement released by CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski on social media, the company is restructuring as part of its strategy to self-publish games. Wojciechowski cited persistent external market pressure that exceeded the company's forecasts, necessitating this decision. 'The market continues to evolve, and we must adapt to the current situation,' he explained. 'We are intensifying our efforts on new project collaborations and focusing on the development of a single, independent title.' The CEO emphasized the company's belief in its teams and games, but acknowledged the need to adjust plans according to financial capabilities. The restructuring has also affected two games in development: Project Victoria has been put on hold, and Project Bitfrost has been scaled back. This move follows an earlier round of layoffs in which over 30 employees were let go due to budget constraints and reduced project scope.
