Rebecka Coutaz Appointed to Lead Battlefield Studios Europe

Electronic Arts has announced the expansion of Rebecka Coutaz's role, appointing her as the head of Battlefield Studios Europe, overseeing both DICE and UK-based Criterion. Both studios will maintain their independence under her leadership as vice president and general manager. Coutaz will work closely with the studios to collaborate on future Battlefield titles, alongside North American studios Motive and Ripple Effect. With over 25 years of experience in the gaming industry, including tenure at Ubisoft and Atari, Coutaz brings a wealth of knowledge to her new position. Having joined DICE in November 2021, she has been instrumental in shaping the studio's direction. In 2022, she was awarded the prestigious Chevalier des Arts et des Lettre for her contributions to the arts through her work in video games. In her new role, Coutaz will focus on driving growth for both DICE and Criterion, while helping to define the future of the Battlefield franchise. "I'm thrilled to take on this expanded leadership role, driving the future of two iconic studios, each with its unique history," she stated. "I aim to empower the teams to push boundaries, innovate, and elevate the player experience. Together, we will harness the creativity of each studio to develop and grow the Battlefield franchise globally, alongside our other studios, for future generations. This is an exciting time as we shape the future of Battlefield, and I look forward to welcoming passionate individuals to join this journey."
