Scopely Establishes New Saudi Arabia Studio Under EA Veteran Leadership

Scopely has launched a new development studio in Saudi Arabia, with seasoned EA executive Charity Joy at the helm. Mirai's primary objective is to harness and cultivate local talent from the MENA region through comprehensive training and development initiatives. Although the studio has not yet disclosed its upcoming projects, it is actively recruiting new team members. Joy brings a wealth of experience, having spent three years at EA, where she held roles such as senior producer for EA Sports and executive producer at Criterion, before being appointed general manager in November 2023. She departed EA in October 2024. Prior to her tenure at EA, Joy worked at The Walt Disney Company, initially as production manager for Club Penguin in 2007, and later as creative director in 2014. According to Scopely COO Eunice Lee, "Our goal is to create the most concentrated Scopely ecosystem possible by expanding into new global markets." "We recognize the immense potential in this emerging market and the passion of its talent base, and we are committed to investing in it to develop exceptional games," Lee added.
