Humanoid Origin Announces Closure

Humanoid Origin has revealed that it is ceasing operations and halting development on its upcoming sci-fi title. In a LinkedIn statement, the Canadian game developer attributed the closure to unforeseen financial difficulties. The studio expressed disappointment at being unable to complete its new science fiction project, but emphasized its commitment to supporting staff during their transition to new roles. Founded in 2021 by Casey Hudson, former general manager at BioWare, Humanoid Origin was based in British Columbia and Alberta, Canada. Hudson's tenure at BioWare spanned 16 years, with a brief departure between 2014 and 2017, before leaving again in 2022, coinciding with the departure of Dragon Age executive producer Mark Darrah.
