Inin Games has acquired the publishing rights for Shenmue 3, marking a new chapter in the game's life cycle. According to Ys Net, the developer behind Shenmue 3, its prior collaboration with Inin Games on Air Twister has fostered a deeper relationship between the two companies, with Ys Net expressing enthusiasm for Inin's involvement in guiding Shenmue 3 forward. Inin Games has pledged to work in close tandem with Ys Net to preserve the legacy of the series while broadening its appeal to a global audience. As an independent studio founded by Yu Suzuki, a veteran developer from Sega, Ys Net has a notable history, including the record-breaking Kickstarter campaign for Shenmue 3 in 2015. Upon its release, Shenmue 3 made its debut in the Japanese charts at fourth position, with sales figures of under 18,000 units in a week largely dominated by Nintendo titles.
